The French side had already agreed terms with the player, who is set to become a free agent this summer. Nevertheless, his club has other plans for him.

Just when things seemed to look right on track for PSG to land one of their transfer targets on a free move, the current club of their potential new player will pull off a move that may complicate things for the Ligue 1 side.

According to reports coming in from Italy, Inter Milan and Milan Skriniar had already put an end to their contract extension talks, but the Italian side was enraged by the words uttered by Skriniar's agent, who admitted that there would be no more talks between his client and the club, which was taken as a sign of disrespect by Inter execs and as an intention to let PSG know they had a clear path to make a move for the footballer.

Agent Roberto Sistici stated that negotiations between his client and the club started after last summer, with Inter offering a contract extension to Skriniar in November 2022. The agent and his client decided to turn down the offer, and went further on to state that his client was already negotiating "with PSG and other non-Italian clubs," which was taken as an insult by Inter's main men.

With that in mind, the nerazzurri are not only willing to part ways with the player, but they will also try to make the deal happen in the final days of the winter transfer window, so they can cash in on the footballer before he can walk away on a free move. Inter's asking price for Skriniar will be around €20M, which is taken as a symbolic number for a player that is set to become a free agent in five months.

This move by Inter represents a big blow for PSG not for the monetary value of the operation, but for the logistics it could imply. The French side need to balance their transfers in and out to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play, and having to pay for Skriniar could be quite a problem for Les Parisiens.

If things continue their due course, PSG could be forced to sell Keylor Navas as soon as possible to balance their sheets and keep themselves in line with UEFA's requirements. If this is not possible, the French club could be in serious problems and another club could steal Skriniar's transfer away from them.
