Tottenham Hotspur seemed to be en route to a convincing and crucial win over Manchester City, but a thunderous comeback by Pep Guardiola's team saw them bounce back to keep their title hopes alive while also adding positive numbers to their season.
The Cityzens scored four uncontested goals in the second half of the game, with Julián Álvarez and Erling Haaland leveling the game for Pep's men. Added to those goals, Riyad Mahrez emerged as the hero of the day by scoring a brace that capped the well-deserved comeback. Mahrez's first goal came with just over 30 minutes left to be played, and his final goal came close to stoppage time.
The Algerian ace not only scored a couple of goals, as he also was involved in the build up to Haaland's goal, assisting the Norwegian striker as he equalized the game. Mahrez's performance was also a historic one for the footballer and in Manchester City's history, as you will be able to see by scrolling down.

This win not only saw Manchester City going back to winning ways in the competition, but it also had them recording their fifth game where they were able to earn points despite conceding twice. Three of those games ended in a win for Pep's men, while the other two concluded in draws.
Guardiola's team will now go on to face Wolverhampton this weekend. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur will aim to get back on track against Fulham, in a game that will have serious implications in the race to finish among the top four.
