Gianluca Ferrero has now taken over as president of Juventus following the ousting of Andrea Agnelli last November.

He might have just taken over as chairman at Juventus, but Gianluca Ferrero is wasting no time in looking to make his mark on the club.

The 59-year-old businessman, who is a registered chartered accountant and graduated from the University of Turin with highest honors, was appointed as the new chairman for the Bianconeri following a meeting. Last year saw Andrea Agnelli resign on November 28th, along with Juventus icon Pavel Nevded and the entire board of directors, following the announcement that there will be an investigation into the club's questionable financial and accounting practices.

Some reports have claimed that Juventus could face criminal trials as a result, a very worrying fact given the club's past involvement in the infamous Calciopoli scandal that rocked Italian football in the early to mid noughties.

In any case, Ferrero is hoping to help steer the club back on track, and noted in a press conference that his "first thought is for the fans, who have always been the strength of the team. I've recently spoken to some of them and heard their doubts and fears about the club's future. I want to be clear when I accepted this role, I did it with the aim of giving my best for [the club".

"[In addition and in cooperation], with the board members, I will work to build a future in line with the glorious past...[specifically] I am talking about everyone working [together] on and off the pitch at the club".

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Juventus will be looking to pick themselves up after a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Napoli, which was their first loss in Serie A since AC Milan beat them 2-0 back on October 8th. It snapped an eight match winning streak and also marked the first time Massimiliano Allegri's side had conceded a goal in Serie A since their aforementioned loss to reigning Scudetto holders Milan nearly ten weeks prior.
