The Polish ace had to wait almost until the end of the game to break the historic tie between himself and the legendary Gerd Müller.

It will be a day hard to forget for Robert Lewandowski, as the Polish ace broke a record that had been established 39 years ago.

The former Borussia Dortmund player had a few chances to score, but Augsburg's goalkeeper was spot on when he had to deny the Polish striker from scoring the record-breaking goal. Nevertheless, Lewandowski's moment of glory came after 89 minutes, when he took advantage of a loose ball left by Rafal Gikiewicz near the 6-yard box and finally found the back of the net.

As you could expect, all Bayern players joined Lewandowski's goal celebration, since they had tried to help him accomplish this feat for most of the game.
