Les Parisiens will be missing two of their superstar players for their upcoming French Cup clash against Chateauroux.

Following their surprise 3-1 loss to Lens, PSG will turn their attention towards cup duties as they take on Chateauroux on Friday. Les Parisiens are expected to rebound from their defeat on New Year's Day without much fuss as Chateauroux currently play in the third tier, meaning that Christophe Galtier will heavily rotate his squad for that upcoming match.

As a result, PSG fans will see a team that won't have all its key players featuring this Friday. Reports indicate that both Lionel Messi and Neymar are anticipated to be given a rest as Galtier does not want to risk any injury to either of the South American duo. Additional reports also note that Neymar is dealing with an ankle injury, which means that there was no way Galtier would opt to field the 30 year old, while Messi only just returned to training after an extended holiday folliowing Argentina's success at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Fans could see Messi back in action sooner rather than later, as PSG will return to Ligue 1 matches on the 11th of January with a home clash against Angers.
