The Red Devils returned to action with a convincing win over Nottingham Forest, but the exit of the Portuguese ace was still a topic to talk about.

Things at Manchester United may be close to improving in the near future, but the topic of Cristiano Ronaldo will always come up especially after how the Portuguese player left the club,

Following the team's 3-0 win for the Red Devils against Nottingham Forest, players were asked a few questions regarding about their first win following the extended World Cup break, and one of those answering inquiries was Christian Eriksen. The footballer did not hesitate to answer questions about the team's form, and one tricky topic he had to deal with had to do with Cristiano Ronaldo's exit.

The Dane did not hesitate to share how the former Red Devil will be missed by many within the squad, while also adding he regretted this rise by the club could not come with CR7 still involved with the club.

"First of all, we are sad that Ronaldo is not part of it. His legacy and his name at any club is special. For me to be fortunate to play with him in my career was very nice," Eriksen stated.

Then, the footballer added that the team will have to adjust to CR7's absence quickly, as modern football does not allow you to keep thinking about what happened and will always force you to keep moving forward.

"But the football goes on. You feel that the next game after, people will forget what it was like before and now our focus is really like he is not here," the midfielder said.

Eriksen went on to discuss how the team has evolved since he joined the Red Devils last summer and how fans can look forward to the rest of the season after they picked up pace before and after the World Cup with key wins.

"We are in a good place. The start of the season was very different compared to now, the football is different to the beginning. You feel that in the group. You feel that the system is working which is something you have to believe in, and I think we are doing that," Eriksen concluded.
