The statements by players such as Kun Agüero or 'Dibu' Martínez have not gone down well among members of the French country.

Celebrations by the Argentine National Team after their World Cup triumph have sparked all sorts of reactions, most of them good and others thinking if that was the best way to go about it.

Speaking for those against some of those expressions, a member of the French government has asked FIFA to take matters into their own hands regarding the antics of former footballer Sergio Agüero and, more importantly, on the behavior shown by goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, who has been in the center of all controversy ever since he picked up the Golden Glove for the best goalkeeper in the tournament.

Bruno Le Maire, Ministry of Economy for the French government, admitted in an interview that he expects football's governing body to act against the abuse suffered by French players, namely Kylian Mbappé and Eduardo Camavinga, who were trolled and mocked by Martínez and some of his teammates in the celebrations for the World Cup title.

"They have been subject to undignifying insults, and what is FIFA going to do about it? Sports are a matter of fair play and of showing respect for others, even for those who lost a big game. These are some bad examples by some of Argentina's players," Le Maire stated.

These words by Le Maire were followed up by World Cup winner Adil Rami, who labeled Martínez as "the worst piece of sh*t in the world of football" for his antics during Argentina's World Cup celebrations.

Added to this request, the French Football Federation has stated it will also investigate the racial slurs aimed against Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni, the two footballers who missed their spot kicks in the title match.
