The Argentine sensation is wanted by Europe's biggest clubs but his Portuguese employers won't let him go without a fight.

Enzo Fernandez was one of the breakout stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and as a result, the Argentine midfielder has been dominating the headlines recently.

The Benfica sensation played a key role in La Albiceleste's success in Qatar, forcing his way into the lineup in their third group stage fixture before eventually being named FIFA's Young Player of the Tournament following their title win.

The 21-year-old was already garnering interest after his stellar performances for Benfica this season but after that World Cup campaign, the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are said to be eyeing a move for the player.

And according to Portuguese news outlet Record, the Eagles have already received a huge bid for their maestro. That offer, worth a whopping €100M, was swiftly rejected by the Primeira Liga leaders though.

While Benfica are facing an uphill battle to keep ahold of the former River Plate talent, the UEFA Champions League side will not budge on their asking price. Roger Schmidt's men want nothing less than the player's €120M ($127M) release clause.

Liverpool have been linked heavily with the FIFA World Cup winner, and for obvious reasons, given their need for midfield reinforcements. Jude Bellingham looks to be the priority for the aforementioned club, but Enzo has been tipped as an option for Klopp's side.

Despite this, the bid made to Benfica did not come from the Merseyside giants. Unfortunately, the identity of the club that submitted the offer remains uncertain.

While a lot remains a mystery, one thing looks guaranteed: Fernandez should get a huge move soon after his Qatar 2022 heroics. The midfielder was one of Scaloni's key performers in the final vs. France and will be looking to make the next step in his career.
