The Argentine ace has finally won the coveted title of the world, but he is still keen on adding more wins to his impressive career.

The big question after the FIFA World Cup came to an end with Argentina taking the trophy home was: "Will Lionel Messi end his international career with this win?" The player himself shared an update on that in his first interview after he led La Albiceleste to World Cup glory.

Speaking to Argentina's TyC Sports, "La Pulga" squashed all the rumors regarding his future away from the South American side, stating that he still has some fuel left in the tank to keep playing with his country's senior team.

"I love football and doing what I do. I enjoy playing for the national team, and I want to keep living a few more games as World Champion. That's it, we can't ask for anything else," Messi stated.

The 35-year old spared a moment to remember Diego Maradona, and stated that the "Hand of God" had something to do with Argentina's win at Lusail Stadium.

"It's pure madness. We had to wait a long time and it's nice to have the cup here now. It's beautiful!" I wanted to win it so badly. I was just saying that Diego (Maradona) was going to give it to me, I felt that this was going to be ours because of how things unfolded. I can't wait to get to Argentina to enjoy this with our people," the footballer added.

Messi went on about how this was probably the highlight of his career, mainly because his run as a professional footballer may soon come to an end.

"We had to win the title and now we've done it. It is not a time to analyze, it is time to enjoy ourselves. I wanted to end my career with this, and now I can't ask for more. Thanks to God, he gave me everything I wished for. To put an end to my career like this, since I know my time will come soon, is just impressive," Messi concluded.
