The Blues have wasted no time in securing the signature of the attacker for next summer.

Chelsea have reportedly completed a deal for France and RB Leipzig winger Christopher Nkunku. The 25-year-old forward has agreed to join the Blues next summer after penning a long-term deal.

The former Paris Saint-Germain youth player has rapidly established himself as a formidable attacker and has caught the eyes of a host of top European clubs with his performances in the last couple of seasons. This year alone, he has registered 50 goals and assists in 58 games for both club and country, the sixth most by any player in Europe. Despite drawing interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and his boyhood club, the French forward has widely been reported to be a priority target for Chelsea.

It is no secret that talks have been ongoing between the Blues, the representatives of Nkunku, as well as RB Leipzig in recent months and a new report suggests that all is set for the player to complete his switch. The French forward had a £53 million release clause in his Leipzig contract but transfere guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Graham Potter's side paid around £10 million more in order to complete the deal quickly.

All documents have now been signed between the London club and RB Leipzig, with Nkunku expected to move to London at the end of the 2022/2023 season. The Frenchman is currently recovering from an ankle ligament injury that forced him to withdraw from the Les Bleus' squad prior to the start of the World Cup.
