One of the most controversial decisions by Spain's coach Luis Enrique had to do with him snubbing Sergio Ramos from the national team that played in the FIFA World Cup.

Fans were left baffled by the coach's decision to keep him away from the team, and this call may have backfired on the manager after watching the end result of the clash agains Morocco, where his players were not able to score once from the penalty spot, one of Ramos' specialties.

Contrary to what some might think, Ramos stepped up to offer words of comfort for his former teammates, urging them to lift their heads and try to get La Roja back to where it belongs.

"Today more than ever, I am proud of our flag, proud of our country and proud of our players. Spain does not lose, Spain learns. Spain may fall and trip, but it will rise and keep moving forward. We will be back, and we will do so stronger. Come on, Spain!"

The fate of Luis Enrique as head coach and of some of the players will be determined next week, once the Spanish Football Federation decide if they want offer the tactician a contract extension.
