The Chelsea star has departed England's camp, just days before their crunch clash with France due to an emergency at home.

On Saturday, England will face reigning World Cup champions France in what should be a real cracker of a quarter-finals match. The Three Lions earned their spot at that juncture thanks to their comfortable 3-0 win over Senegal, while France were totally in control as they earned a 3-1 victory against Poland.

However, ahead of that match, one of England's key players has had to leave the team camp due to an unfortunate situation. Reports have indicated that Raheem Sterling has rushed back to England following news that a break-in had occured at his home.

The 27-year-old was a notable absentee for Gareth Southgate's side during his team's match against Senegal, and now the true reason for his absence has been revealed.

According to the Surrey police department, Sterling's family were the victims of a robbery at their multi-million pound mansion, with thousands of pounds of jewelery and other valuables reported stolen.

No one was hurt during the incident, but Sterling, who has young children, is understandably quite rattled about this and hence has returned to England to be with his family.

It remains to be seen whether Sterling, who currently plays his club football for Chelsea after leaving Manchester City this summer, will return to Qatar in time for his side's showdown against France this weekend.
