President of France Emmanuel Macron has been hailed by football fans after accurately predicting the scorers and scoreline for Sunday's clash between his country's team and Poland. The 44-year-old singled out Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud as the scorers for his side and named Robert Lewandowski to get the consolation goal for the Poles for the game to end 3-1.

Speaking to Le Parisien on Saturday, President Macron revealed that he has constantly been in touch with head coach Didier Deschamps on a regular basis during the tournament. He subsequently revealed that he has planned to travel to Qatar should Les Bleus reach the semi-finals before adding that the side will progress to the quarter-final with a 3-1 win on Sunday.

"Lewandowski will score one, just like Mbappé or maybe Giroud, who wants to make history," he said.
