The Frenchman was taken off in the first half, leading to concerns about his fitness ahead of Premier League clash with Aston Villa and UCL final showdown vs Man City.

Chelsea vs Leicester was an excellent match for the Blues, with the London giants securing a brilliant 2-1 victory in the race to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. However, despite the win, there were a few huge moments of concern for the London giants.

After a frustrating first-half in which Timo Werner saw two goals overturned by VAR, the Stamford Bridge side took the lead in the 47th minute courtesy of Rudiger. After being awarded a penalty, Jorginho doubled the hosts' lead but a 76th-minute goal from Kelechi Iheanacho made for a nervy ending to Tuesday's battle.

This victory means Chelsea, who are now in third, simply need to match or better Leicester's result on the final day in order to secure a top-four finish. Despite this huge result, there was an aura of concern among the fan base and this was in relation to N'Golo Kante.

The Frenchman started Tuesday's game and was influential in the first half, even coming close to scoring early on. However, just after the half-an-hour mark, the 2018 World Cup winner was substituted off the pitch, replaced by Matteo Kovacic.

As Kante walked off the field, Tuchel could be seen in conversation with the Frenchman regarding his fitness, proving that his withdrawal was not a tactical decision. This left fans concern given that the UEFA Champions League final against Man City is only 10 days away.

Speaking after the game, Tuchel offered a positive update on the 30-year-old, revealing that the widely-revered midfielder was substituted off merely as a precaution. According to the German boss, Kante communicated to the dugout that he feared muscle injury would have occurred had he remained on the pitch, thus prompting the decision to withdraw him.

"N'Golo is not injured. He told me – and I understood him right in French – he went out before an injury," Tuchel said, as per the Sun.

"He felt his hamstrings and was worried that he would get injured if he continued to play.

"We will check them tomorrow. I have a good feeling with N'Golo.

"He said he felt something, he didn't want to risk a muscle injury. I hope for Sunday [he will be fit]."

This is a huge boost for the London giants as N'Golo has become an integral figure under Tuchel, overcoming a few rough spells under Frank Lampard's reign. The Frenchman has been at the heart of the Blues' Champions League run, playing a key role in the victories of Atletico and Real Madrid en route to the final.
