Multiple records set in Ghana-South Korea clash

Multiple milestones set during Ghana's thrilling 3-2 win over South Korea

November 28, 2022 By Michelle Bonsu
The game featuring Ghana and South Korea certainly kept fans and neutrals alike entertained throughout, and also saw several records set.

Monday's games at the 2022 FIFA World Cup certainly have not disappointed so far, to say the least.

Earlier in the day, Cameroon battled to a deserved point as they clawed their way from 3-1 down to draw Serbia 3-3.

And then, Ghana took on South Korea in a game that kept fans and neutrals on their seats. The Black Stars took a 2-0 lead, only to nearly throw it all away as Korea came roaring back in the second half and took advantage of some shoddy defending to score two goals.

However, the West African nation still had something in store, as they grabbed a third goal to pick up a much needed win and keep their qualification hopes for the round of 16 alive.

Not surprisingly, the five goal thriller set multiple records in the process, as we can see from these stats below:

Meanwhile, although South Korea were on the wrong end of the 3-2 score-line, they also set a record of their own:

Both teams will be in action in a few days time, with Ghana facing Uruguay in what should be a very intriguing match as they will reunite after the controversial 2010 World Cup meeting, while South Korea will hope to turn things around as they take on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.
