2022 FIFA World Cup: How to watch Brazil vs Switzerland live on November 28, 2022

November 27, 2022 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The Seleccao will aim to build on their winning start at Qatar 2022 when they take on Switzerland on Monday.

Brazil will have its sight set on securing a spot in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Round of 16 when they take on Switzerland at Stadium 974 on Monday. The Seleccao have had the best possible start to the tournament, announcing themselves with an impressive display in their 2-0 win over Serbia on Thursday. A double from Richarlison inspired the five-time world champions to add to their remarkable run of form as they aim to progress in their bid to secure the trophy for the first time in two decades.

In hindsight, the clash with Serbia was far from a walk over for the Tite's men as they had to come out with more firepower in the second half following a goalless first 45 minutes. The result ensured an eighth consecutive win for Brazil and stretched the unbeaten streak across all competitions to 16. The run goes back to their Copa America defeat to Argentina in July 2021. In the last eight victories in question, they have scored 28 goals and have only conceded two.

This withstanding, the South American heavyweights will be poised to dominate the Swiss who equally possess the personnel to cause an upset. The Nati are largely regarded by many as dark horses for the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar and will hope to live up to expectations. Indeed, there will be no better way to make a statement of intent than to manage a win over the No.1 ranked team in the world.

Having also made featured in their first group game last Thursday, Switzerland had to dig deep to manage a 1-0 win over Cameroon. The meeting's outcome has left the European team in a healthy position to reach the Round of 16 and at least a draw will be instrumental in their bid.

Form-wise, there might be little room to be concerned about Switzerland's chances as they have managed just four wins in their 10 outings. Five of the matches have ended in losses while the remaining game was a draw with Kosovo in a international friendly.

Brazil vs Switzerland: Head-to-head record

Brazil and Switzerland have drawn their two previous matches at the FIFA World Cup (2-2 in 1950 and 1-1 in 2018). The Nati is the team that the Selecao has faced the most times during the competition without ever winning (also two vs Portugal and Hungary).
