PSG's ace will not be around for the team's matches against Switzerland and Cameroon after limping out of the game against Serbia.

The worst fears for Brazilian fans were materialized today, as Neymar has been ruled out of the team's next group stage games after picking up a nasty ankle injury against Serbia.

During Brazil's 2-0 win over Serbia, Neymar was fouled nine times by the European side, with reports coming in from the team's camp that the footballer decided to stay on the pitch for eleven minutes despite not being able to stand the pain caused by this injury.

Speaking at Brazil's training facilities in Qatar, team doctor Rodrigo Lesmar revealed that Neymar and Danilo, who has also been ruled out for the remainder of the first round, have already started a treatment to keep them fit for the next stage of the tournament in case Brazil are able to make it through.

"Neymar and Danilo began their treatment right after the game. After the initial tests performed on them today, we believe it is important to scan their ankles to determine their evolution. Those tests revealed a ligament injury for Neymar, and it is safe to say that none of them will be available for the next game. Our main goal now will be to have them around for the next round if possible," the doctor stated.

Things for Brazil may not be as worrying, as Real Madrid star Rodrygo has been tipped to take Neymar's spot in the lineup for the rest of the group stage.
