Despite finishing without any goals, the match between Denmark and Tunisia set a very interesting record.

It was bound to happen at some point.

Although many of us do not really want to see a game sans goals, a goalless draw is something that has always happened in major tournaments at one point or another.

In the case of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, fans did not have to wait long to see the first stalemate that did not see any shots find the back of the net.

After Monday's opening match that featured arguably the biggest upset in World Cup history as Saudi Arabia beat Argentina 2-1, all eyes then shifted to the second match of a very busy day, featuring Denmark and Tunisia.

Denmark are viewed by some as potential contenders to surprise everyone this year, and so, the Scandinavian side were keen on getting off the mark in their group stage opener.

Unfortunately for Christian Eriksen and his colleagues, it was not to be, as a determined Tunisia side were eager to hold their own to battle them across every blade of grass to grind out a point.

Tunisia certainly will be the happier of the two sides, while Denmark will now need to gather themselves and refocus ahead of upcoming matches against reigning World Cup holders France, followed by a tie against Australia.

However, although the match didn't see any goals - the first of its nature so far at this World Cup - it still was notable as it made a bit of history, as can be seen by this stat below:
