Chelsea's shot-stopper was not on point when asked to help his team during the final moments of the game against the Dutch side.

Senegal and the Dutch national team locked into a big game during the opening round of the FIFA World Cup, but in the end, the European side claimed a huge three points thanks to two late goals. Unfortunately for Senegal, their performance was not backed by the end result, and that's where some believe that goalkeeper Edouard Mendy could be named as the main culprit.

With the game approaching its conclusion, Senegal had dominated the Netherlands for a good portion of the game. With six minutes left on the clock, Frenkie de Jong foud Cody Gakpo all alone in the box to score the game's opening goal, but it seems that Mendy reacted a bit slower than expected and ended up giving an edge to the PSV striker.

Right after the goal, fans even compared Mendy's performance with that of Qatar's goalkeeper, Saad Al Sheeb, who also had a couple of mishaps that ended up making the hosts of the tournament a bit more nervous and ended with a loss for them.

As you might expect, jokes and trolls flooded the internet with some harsh but somehow deserved comments against the Senegalese goalkeeper.
