The American owner is believed to be a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and, according to the Sunday Mirror, would be eager to recruit the United superstar for his side.

In any case that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner departs from Old Trafford, he is expected to leave for free. A return to Sporting CP has also been cited, although nothing concrete has emerged from the links.
