The Stars and Stripes have named their squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup...and it is not away from controversy as usual.
Coach Gregg Berhalter has named a talented and young squad, but it seems that some fans will be missing some of the names that helped them return to the top football tournament in the world. Players such as Ricardo Pepi, Zack Steffen, Jordan Pefok, and Malik Tillman were left out of the 26-man roster, raising a few eyebrows after the full list of names was revealed.
The team will benefit from the talents of players such as Weston McKennie, Sergiño Dest, DeAndre Yedlin, and Christian Pulisic, who will finally play in his first World Cup after missing out on the 2018 edition. Other standout names include Tim Weah and Matt Turner, Arsenal's goalkeeper and who was also key for the USMNT in recent games.
Here is Berhalter's list of names for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
