Hazard set to lead overhaul at R. Madrid

Hazard set to lead massive overhaul at Real Madrid following UCL exit

May 6, 2021 By Oscar Rojas
The Belgian player, along with some of the most beloved footballers in the squad, will be shown the exit door regardless of what happens in La Liga.

The end of Real Madrid's title chances in the UEFA Champions League will also mark the end of an era in the Spanish giants, as some of the players that were key to winning three UCL titles may end up leaving the club, and they would be joined by none other than the team's most expensive signing of all-time: Eden Hazard.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the Belgian footballer is set to leave the club due to his disappointing performances with Los Blancos whenever he was fit to play. Added to that, the footage of the footballer laughing with Kurt Zouma right after the end of the game against Chelsea did not help his cause, and members of the team's hierarchy have asked Florentino Pérez to send him away from the club.

Speaking about those players who were instrumental to their UEFA Champions League three-peat, the names that have emerged as potential transfers are Marcelo, Isco, and Gareth Bale, who is currently on loan at Tottenham but some within the club wish to make that move permanent. Out of these players, Real Madrid execs are reportedly eager to get a decent transfer income from the transfers involving Bale and Isco. Sergio Ramos' name could be added to this list, but since the defender's deal with Los Blancos ends this summer, he would leave the club on a free transfer.

Other players who may have to search for other employment opportunities are Dani Ceballos and Luka Jovic. The first one may seal a permanent transfer with Arsenal, while the investment made to hire Jovic may force Los Blancos to try and include him in a deal for another striker. Either way, both of these players' futures remain to be sorted out by Zinedine Zidane...if he keeps his job with the club.

The same report suggests that Zidane's future could also be in jeopardy if Los Merengues are unable to win La Liga one more time. The Frenchman is still under contract with the Spanish giants, but everyone knows that Florentino Pérez has always sacked those managers that are not able to win any of the major trophies Real Madrid plays for every season. Added to that, his questionable tactics against Chelsea have made some fans and experts wonder if the time for a change has come at La Casa Blanca.
