Tuchel makes history as Chelsea reach UCL final

Tuchel makes UCL history as he leads Chelsea to tournament final

May 5, 2021 By Oscar Rojas
The German boss put up a masterclass in the second leg against Real Madrid and led the Blues to their first final in this competition since 2012.

Chelsea will go back to the UEFA Champions League final, and they will do so thanks to their German boss, Thomas Tuchel.

The Blues put to rest the idea of a comeback for Real Madrid with a two-nil score, courtesy of goals by Timo Werner and Mason Mount. Tuchel's side had quite a few chances of killing Los Blancos' chances prior to the second goal, but with five minutes to go, Mount's goal was the final nail on the title hopes for Zidane and Co.

But if the players had their own merit, the man that deserves the most praise is none other than Thomas Tuchel. The German coach crafted the perfect tactics for this game, managing to urge his players to keep Los Blancos' footballers uncomfortable throughout the pitch.

With that display, it was obvious that Tuchel would lead Chelsea to the final, and he managed to accomplish a record for himself while leading Chelsea to their first UCL final in 2012.

Now, Chelsea will have to prepare for an interesting match against Manchester City, in what will be the eighth UEFA Champions League final between teams from the same country and the first one since the 2018-19 title clash, where Liverpool defeated Tottenham.
