The days of Joan Laporta as Barcelona’s president are gone. Sandro Rosell is now at the head of the Catalonian club and the future might see Pique’s name added to the list of Barca’s presidents.
Gerard Pique was happy to discuss about his career in an interview with El Mundo Deportivo. The talented defender, who left Manchester United to reunite with Barcelona a few years ago, reminded fans about his strong intentions as a Catalan.

“If I hadn't become a footballer, I definitely would have ended up in the footballing world in some other position,” Pique stated according to El Mundo Deportivo.

“When football's your passion, you always want to be active in this world. I will not leave the footballing world when I retire.

“I've once said that I want to become Barcelona president and that's still my ambition. There's still plenty of time though, so we'll see what happens in the future.”

Barcelona are currently trying to sort out financial problems and the situation has been branded as “delicate”. The team, however, is looking to bounce back from two consecutive 2-2 draws. This weekend, Barcelona will lock horns against Osasuna in a match they want to win at all cost.
