Allegri as option for Bayern manager?

Bayern looking at former Milan and Juve boss as managerial option?

April 15, 2021 By Michelle Bonsu
With current boss Hansi Flick set to leave at the end of this season, Bayern are reportedly looking at the former Rossoneri and Bianconeri tactician as an option to take over next season.

Despite leading Bayern to unprecedented success during the 2019/2020 season, Hansi Flick is reportedly set to say Auf Wiedersehen to the Bavarian titans once the current campaign comes to a close.

Under his tenure, die Roten became the first German club, and only the second European team in history after Barcelona, to win the Sextuple. Last season saw them win their second Treble since 2013, and they went one step further by adding three more titles to complete a clean sweep. Unfortunately, this time around, the German giants won't be able to successfully defend all those titles, as they've been eliminated in both the DFB Pokal and most recently, the Champions League, but they're in good stead to win yet another Bundesliga title as they still remain five points clear of RB Leipzig.

With Flick preparing to depart, Bayern naturally now have to find an apt replacement. And according to reports from Italy, former AC Milan and Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is one man who has apparently caught the eye of the Bavarian powerhouse.

Allegri has been out of work since Juventus decided to surprisingly part ways with him and hire Maurizio Sarri back in 2019, and while there has also been buzz about a potential return to the Allianz Stadium to replace Andrea Pirlo, nothing has fully materialized on that front just yet.

All in all, with about a month to go between now and the end of the current Bundesliga campaign, one thing is certain: whoever Bayern's new coach is going to be will be known sooner rather than later.
