Serie A leaders Inter Milan will return to action this midweek against Sassuolo, taking to the field on Wednesday in their game in-hand in the Italian top-flight. This fixture is scheduled to take place at 12:45 p.m. ET at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as Conte's men look to take a huge step towards winning the Scudetto.

It has been a staggering 11 years since the Nerazzurri last won the Serie A crown, with Jose Mourinho's 2010 team being the last Inter squad to lift the Scudetto. Antonio Conte's men find themselves well on their way to the league title, as a victory on Wednesday could stretch their lead at the top to a whopping 11 points.

Closest rivals AC Milan slipped up over the weekend, drawing 1-1 with 10-man Sampdoria, giving Inter the golden opportunity of strengthening their grip on the league. Lukaku and Co. are unbeaten since January and thus appear destined to bag all three points in this fixture that was initially scheduled prior to the international break.

After suffering a COVID-19 outbreak in their camp, the Serie A leaders requested the game be postponed, and their wish was granted. Samir Handanovic, Danilo D'Ambrosio, and Stefan de Vrij all contracted the virus but have since recovered, and are now ready to feature this midweek as the Milan giants aim for a 10th straight win.

They head into this tie on the back of their narrow 1-0 triumph over Bologna over the weekend, with Romelu Lukaku scoring the one and only goal. That effort took the Belgian's Italian top-flight tally to 21 as the former Man Utd striker looks to inspire his team to another triumph.
