The Norwegian striker has been linked to Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United, but the Cityzens are already plotting to swoop him away for many years.

Just when everyone thought that Erling Haaland's future was going to be linked to either Real Madrid and Barcelona, the player's inner circle has reportedly received an offer they may find hard to refuse.

According to a report by The Sun, the player has already been tempted by a mammoth offer from Manchester City that would make him the best-paid player in the league and would also make him one of the highest-paid footballers in the world. The deal would force Haaland to sign a five-year deal with the Cityzens, who would pay him a bit over $400,000 a week.

Nevertheless, the report adds that the infamous Mino Raiola will demand a $600,000-a-week wage to sign a deal with the English club. The cost of the transfer, between wages and the fee Man City would be forced to pay Borussia Dortmund, would escalate the transfer to a record-breaking $300M.

Haaland's time at Borussia Dortmund could be cut short if the team fails to qualify to the UEFA Champions League, and he has already stated he would consider offers if the black and yellow are not involved in that tournament. Either way, the staggering amount proposed by the Cityzens would be enough to make him change his mind. Moreover, his father's history with the club could play a central role in his decision.

Now, the ball seems to be on Manchester City's table. The main problem now will be to try and solve the differences between Mino Raiola and Pep Guardiola, who have frequently entered into wars of words over a variety of topics in the past decade.
