Starting in 2021, fans will be seeing a new logo on the front of the iconic kits worn by the players at Old Trafford.

After a long, extensive, and at times, arduous search, Manchester United have finally secured a new kit sponsor for the upcoming 2021/2022 season.

TeamViewer, a German technology company, will be the sixth organization fortunate enough to have their logo displayed on the iconic kits worn by players at the famed Old Trafford Stadium. They'll be following on the heels of globally-known companies such as Sharp, Vodafone, AIG, Aon, and most recently, American automobile manufacturer Chevrolet.

United's deal with Chevrolet, which started ahead of the 2014/2015 season, was worth about $79.8 million (£57.6 million) per year. The deal was actually supposed to expire at the end of the 2020/2021 term, but due to the outbreak of COVID-19, both sides agreed to sign a short-term, six month arrangement after the Red Devils were unable to secure another sponsor for the long haul, and thus extended their contract through December 2021.

Failing to qualify for the Champions League in the prior season didn't help Manchester United's case, either, as their broadcasting revenues plummeted significantly. However, now that they've made a return to European club football's premier competition, the English giants have naturally seen this figure rise, from $88.8 million (£64.7 million) in 2020 to $149.2 million (£108.7 million) this year.

But back to the new five-year deal with TeamViewer, which is set to commence with the 2021/2022 campaign:

Although the exact financial details haven't been revealed, English publication Manchester Evening News alleges that the deal between the two sides is worth a total of $325 million (£235 million), which averages out to about $65 million (£47 million) each season.

That's apparently the largest deal that a Premier League team have negotiated so far as we're all presently battling this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Not bad for a side, who, only a year ago, were struggling to find a sponsor!
