The Welsh side will try to gain confidence after a heart-breaking loss to Belgium when they face El Tri in what will be the first match in 2021 for the Mexican side.

The International Break will not only give fans a chance to watch their national teams fighting for a spot in the FIFA World Cup, as there will be some interesting friendlies to get our hands on. One of those friendlies that will be worth-watching will be the one between Wales and Mexico, who are set to lock horns this Saturday.

The Welsh side will use this game to get themselves together after a disappointing loss in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Added to that, Ryan Giggs' legal problems in his country have prevented him from joining the national team, making Robert Page the head coach for the games being played during the ongoing international break. Prior to their loss this week, the Welsh side had a five-game streak without a loss, which included wins against Finland, Ireland, and Bulgaria.

As for Mexico, the team coached by Gerardo "Tata" Martino will be gearing up for a busy summer, where they will have to play the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the CONCACAF Nations League finals in six weeks. El Tri will make it to this game on a ten-match streak without a loss. Martino's men have won nine of those games, including victories against the Netherlands, South Korea, and Japan.

For this game, interim coach Robert Page is expected to field an alternative lineup, although the likes of Gareth Bale, Ethan Ampadu, Daniel James, and Tyler Roberts are expected to have a role in this game. As for Mexico, the team will not have Javier "Chicharito" Hernández around due to his poor performances in the MLS. Added to his absence, Raúl Jiménez is still recovering from a head injury he picked up in 2020, which will make goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and wingers Jesús Corona and Hirving Lozano the players to watch.
