The Bavarians are set to snap up the attacker in the upcoming transfer window.

Bayern Munich have set their sight on signing Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez this summer, a report from Spain has revealed. The 29-year-old Spanish footballer has his current contract with Los Blancos ending in June and is said to be in advanced talks to join the Bavarians next season.

Despite making his debut at the Spanish club in 2015, Vazquez has failed to nail down a regular starting position. Nevertheless, he has been instrumental in the success story of the club under Zinedine Zidane as his versatility to play as a winger and a full-back often comes in handy. The attacker, who turns 30 in July, was offered a contract extension by Los Blancos but declined as he would have been required to take a 10 per cent pay cut.

Vazquez has since been listening to offers and the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal said to be interested in the player's signing. However Spanish publication AS has revealed that Bayern Munich are making significant strides in securing the service of the Spanish international. Although the player is yet to make a definite decision concerning his future, the report claims that the idea of moving to the Bundesliga side is appealing to him

The Bavarians are also believed to have been attracted by the player's versatility and will look to wrap up the deal in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, their defensive stalwart David Alaba is expected to move in the opposite direction after confirming that he will be ending his 13-year stay at the club at the end of the season.
