The 2018 MLS Cup winners recently signed a deal with the telecom giants to feature its logo on some of their kits

The 2021 MLS team is just around the corner, with the first match set to take place on April 17th.

Meanwhile, many teams are signing contracts with sponsors, both smaller and more well-known. Newly founded side Austin FC has inked deals with a plethora of companies, the most notable being Diageo North America, which is the North American branch of the British company that produces the famous beverage Captain Morgan rum.

Diageo North America also has signed deals with fellow MLS sides Los Angeles FC, Minnesota United, Nashville SC, and Inter Miami.

So, it's not shocking that Atlanta United has also gotten in on the action. Nicknamed the Five Stripes, the Southern-based outfit, who were named as named as the most valuable team in the league by Forbes in November 2019 with an estimated value of $500 million, featured in their first playoff in their debut season. And under-then coach Tata Martino, they went one better in their sophomore campaign by winning the MLS Cup.

Considering that Atlanta United have repeatedly set multiple records for both highest single match and average seasonal attendance since their inception, it's no shock that many large sponsors are eager to work with them. The latest is telecom giants AT&T, who, from 2021, will have their logo featured on their kits as a sleeve sponsor.

Prior to this, Atlanta United had financial services company Truist Financial and before that, Piedmont Hospital as their sleeve sponsor.

Atlanta United and AT&T, of course, are no strangers to each other, as the team play at Mercedes-Benz Stadium where the telecom conglomerate is the official communications provider and has been so since the team set up camp there in 2017.
