About the USWNT 23-player roster

Forward Carli Lloyd is likely to earn her 300th appearance for the USA during the trip. If it does happen, Lloyd will join former teammates Kristine Lilly (354) and Christie Pearce Rampone (311) to become one of the three players in international soccer history – men or women – to represent their country 300 times.

Forward Megan Rapinoe leads the USWNT in scoring in 2021 with five goals. Ten other players have scored. Midfielder Samantha Mewis is the second top scorer with three.

Nine players on the roster have 33 or fewer caps in Alana Cook, Casey Murphy, Catarina Macario, Jane Campbell, Kristie Mewis, Lynn Williams, Margaret Purce, Sophia Smith and Tierna Davidson. Moreover, the average caps per player on the roster is 79 with Lloyd boasting the most (299) and Murphy the fewest (0) as she looks to make her national team debut.

Defender Abby Dahlkemper, and midfielders Samantha Mewis and Rose Lavelle will join the camp in the midst of a title run with FA Women’s Super League side Manchester City. The three Americans will join after their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinal home and away legs against Barcelona scheduled for March 24 and 31.

Forward Christen Press will also travel to Stockholm from England where she is currently helping Manchester United fight for the third and final UEFA Women’s Champions League spot for next season.

Midfielder Catarina Macario and defender Alana Cook will report to camp after highly anticipated UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinal home and away legs between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais on March 24 ad 31.

Sam Mewis will join her sister Kristie after missing-out on the SheBelieves Cup in February due to a small ankle injury. The two hold the record for most games played together with sisters with three games.

The youngest player on the roster is forward Sophia Smith, who turned 20 years old on August 10, 2020. Smith was four years old when Lloyd made her USWNT debut. The Stanford graduate debuted against the Netherlands last November and became the first player born in the 2000s to earn a senior team cap.
