After a thrilling round of football in the last 16, a host of the English top-flight teams will look to take a step closer to this season's FA Cup trophy.

Eight teams are set to go head to head for a semi-final berth when the FA Cup returns this weekend. Fans were threated to a spectacle the last time out with a host of the clubs involved fighting right till the end to clinch qualification into the next round. One that particular caught the attention of many was Evertons's thrilling 5-4 win over Tottenham Hotspur which ended Jose Mourinho's dream of securing a domestic cup double for his North London side.

Quardruple-chasing Manchester City booked their trip to the Goodison Park by seeing off Swansea while Scott McTominay's lone-goal in extra-time goal secured for Manchester United a quarter final date with Leicester City. Relatively, the Foxes overcame the test of Brighton and progressed at their expense with a 1-0 scoreline. Chelsea, Sheffield United and Southampton sealed their fate with respective wins over Barnsley, Bristol City and Wolves respectively with Bournemouth emerging as the only non-Premier League club at this phase with a surprise away win over Burnley.

Needless to say, all eyes will be on the Goodison Park and well as the King Power Stadium for obvious reasons this weekend. For starter's Everton will be hoping to turn around their ill-fortune when they welcome Manchester City to Merseyside. The Toffees have recorded successive defeats against Chelsea and Burnley after going on a three-game winning run. The fact that they have lost three of their last four home matches also does not help their case considering the kind of form they opponent they face are in.

For Manchester City, the dream of another cup success should boost their morale ahead of Saturday's encounter. The Citizens, who sit atop the Premier Legaue table with a significant point difference, are well positioned to complete a domestic treble this season. They approach the meeting with Everton with just one defeat across their last 33 games in all competitions.

In the other big clash, Leicester City will aim to upset the odds when Manchester United come to town. The Foxes have endured a topsy-turvy ride thus far, although they are won all their last two matches. Prior to that, Brendan Rodgers' men had failed to pick up wins against Burnley, Arsenal and Slavia Praha. With a top-four finish looking very likely for the Foxes this term, a cup success will also come in handy for the King Power outfit.

However, they will be required to defy the odds and get the better of Manchester United who have proved to be a force to reckon with as far as their away form is concerned. The Red Devils have been impressive on the road and will be approaching the weekend's cup tie off the back of an Europa League cup triumph away to AC Milan at San Siro. It has been widely stated that anything other than one cup success will put the tenure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and one Saturday, United will look to prevent that by taking a step closer to securing the English cup.

Elsewhere, Chelsea will flex their muscles against relegation-threatened yet cup-hopeful Sheffield United. A win will extend the Blues' unbeaten start under Thomas Tuchel to 14. On the contrary, the Blades will hope to avoid their sixth defeat in seven appearances across all competitions although the odds are well against them.
