Apparently, the harsh criticism against him after the team's UCL exit would be the main cause for his departure.

The rumors surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo and his wish to leave Juventus by the end of the season have turned out to be true, according to a recent interview by former Azzurri ace Salvatore "Toto" Schillachi.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's hero for the 1990 FIFA World Cup admitted that a reliable source within the team told him that Cristiano Ronaldo is set to part ways with the bianconeri once the season comes to a close.

"This will be Cristiano's last year with Juventus, he will leave. He will give his all for the club and for himself, trying to prove that what happened against Porto was just an accident, but I have no doubt that he will leave," Schillachi said.

The former striker added that he doubts the club will offer him a contract extension, but he also ventured a guess and stated that the player will not delay on announcing his new team.

"I don't know if the team will sign him for one more year, but I can assure you that CR7 will not take long to announce where he will be playing next," the Italian legend added.

Schillachi hinted that making Ronaldo the sole culprit of Juve's elimination may have been one of the causes why the footballer is ready to leave.

"The criticism against him after the Champions League game were excessive, we are talking about the best striker in the whole world. He is allowed to have a bad match. If you ask me, I believe that Juve may have underestimated their rivals," the former striker added.

Last, but not least, Schillachi predicted how Juve's dominance in the Italian top-flight will come to an end this season.

"I think Inter will win it. Juve will come in second, but they will have to fight for it until the end. It will mark the end of a complicated term for Pirlo's team," Schillachi concluded.
