Manchester City will look to take another step closer to their Premier League title charge by registering a win when they travel to Fulham on Saturday.

Preview

Fulham will host league-leaders Manchester City at Craven Cottage on Saturday as they target a surprise win to boost their survival hopes. The Cottagers are currently facing a demotion to the Championship just a year after returning but could have the opportunity to salvage their season should they manage to get the better of the Citizens.

Despite the Herculean nature of the task ahead, Scott Parker's men are poised to make a difference after defying the bookie's prediction to become the latest customers to beat Liverpool at Anfield. Thanks to Mario Lemina's first half strike, they were able to run away as the sixth different side in succession to beat the Reds inside Anfield, condemning them to a new low.

The result contributed positively to the run of Fulham as they currently sit two points away from safety. However, they will be required to do a lot more if they fancy remaining in the league with exactly 10 games left to play in the campaign. Over the course of the last 10 games, they have managed just three wins, drawing five and losing the remaining two games.

Fulham's last win over Manchester City came as far back as April 2009 but with the Citizens looking to close in on the Premiership title, victory could very much elude the Cottagers once again. Pep Guardiola's side have been by far the best club of the league thus far, sweeping clubs aside with one domineering performance after the other.

Up until falling to that 2-0 defeat against Manchester United in the derby defeat played over a week ago, the Citizens were on an incredible 21-game winning streak across all competitions. 15 of that came in the Premier League, a run of results that has resulted in them establishing a 14-point lead, having played one more game than any of the potential title contenders.

As things stand, six more wins would secure Manchester City their third title under manager Pep Guardiola. As to whether they can elude the prospect of any upset against Fulham on Saturday remains to be seen, especially taking into account who solid they have been defensively.

Team news

Fulham have both Marek Rodak and midfielder Tom Cairney absent through injury. Aside the pair, no other player is incapacitated for the host ahead of Saturday's clash with City. Guardiola's side, on the other hand, is currently facing a selecton dilemma with all of the squad players well and fit to feature.
