The Spanish center back also had words for Cristiano Ronaldo's elimination with Juventus, although those came in a different tone.

With his return to the pitch right around the corner, Sergio Ramos decided to discuss a variety of topics in an interview held on Twitch. Needless to say, his words will not go down well among Barcelona fans.

The Spanish center back and Real Madrid icon wasted no time to launch a dig at Barcelona over their disappointing performance in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, after admitting that he was "happy" to see them being eliminated by PSG after Wednesday's draw.

"The satisfaction of watching Barcelona being eliminated is there, I have a beef against them and they are one of our bitter rivals. I don't mean to brag, but we are still in contention for the title at the moment. Besides, Keylor plays for PSG, so it was all good news," Ramos said.

Despite this dig, Ramos was wary not to be too confident about his team's chances of eliminating Atalanta next week.

"I would not like to mock them after their elimination, because we could share the same boat next week. We will be very careful when we play against Atalanta," the player added.

The defender went on to discuss the outcome of the first Round of 16 matches, and shared his thoughts on Cristiano Ronaldo's elimination with Juventus and how it might have a negative effect on CR7's reputation.

"Juve's elimination shows that all teams have a chance to shock the big clubs. Juve were favorites to win the tie, but it shows that you can't underestimate any rival nowadays. As for Cristiano, he is used to that sort of pressure, he's Juve's driving force and he knows how to deal with it," Ramos added.

During the interview, Ramos went on to discuss the possibility of leaving Real Madrid by revealing how contract extension talks are on hold at the moment.

"If I need to, I'd like to leave the club with a clear conscience. I'd like to be respected and to see all those years of feeling and defending this crest paying off. I am a positive thinker and I believe that when you work for something, things will go your way. But honestly, there's nothing to say about my contract. Trust me, there is no one more anxious than me to solve that matter," Ramos concluded.
