NBCSN's broadcast of the Manchester Derby on Sunday topped last week's soccer viewership ratings last week, attracting 760,000 average viewers and receiving a 0.43 viewership rating. Those who tuned in got to watch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Red Devils put an end to Manchester City's 21-game winning streak via a Bruno Fernandes penalty kick and a Luke Shaw open play goal that sealed the win. Also telecasted on NBCSN, Fulham's 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield made it to the top three list in the number three position. The game attracted 433,000 viewers and received a 0.27 rating. Seven other Premier League games made it to Showbuzzdaily's top 150 cable originals and network finals last week, and the total average views between the nine broadcasts were 2,995,000, averaging 333,000 viewers per game.
The second most-watched game of the week was the German Bundesliga's most famous matchup, Der Klassiker, broadcasted in the U.S. by ABC. Twenty-year-old Erling Haaland scored a brace in the first half, but the Borussians were not able to hold the siege at Allianz Arena as Robert Lewandowski's hattrick sealed the comeback win for Bayern Munich. The broadcast received a 0.35 viewership rating after 576,000 people tuned in to watch the ever-so-dramatic marquee matchup. The game was also aired in Spanish-language on ESPN Deportes and received a 0.03 rating after 77,000 people viewed the game.
TUDN's broadcast of a Liga MX draw between Mazatlán and Chivas Guadalajara on Saturday night fell just shy of the top three most-watched games of the week. TUDN garnered 2,890,000 viewers across its 13 telecasts, averaging 222,000 viewers per game.
Der Klassiker was not the only marquee matchup that made it into Showbuzzdaily's top 150 cable originals and network finals last week. BeIN Sport Español broadcasted La Liga Santander's Madrid Derby on Sunday, which ended in a one-all draw thanks to Karim Benzema's 88th-minute equalizer.
