It was one of those heroic nights for Barcelona in their first do-or-die clash of the season, and even if Lionel Messi did not show up to lead his team, Gerard Piqué did step up to deliver quite a moment to remember for all Blaugrana fans.
With the game 1-0 and with only seconds left on the clock, Los Culés made the most out of a loose ball near Sevilla's box to send the game into extra time. Antoine Griezmann collected a shaky clearance by Diego Carlos, dribbled past the same footballer and crossed the ball into the 6-yard box. There, Piqué found the back of the net with a precise header to give Barcelona new life in the competition.
After Piqué's goal, Sevilla were unable to create any danger to Marc-André Ter Stegen's net, and a goal by Martin Braithwaite in extra time gave Barcelona to one more Copa del Rey title clash.
