March 3, 2021 By Michelle Bonsu
The upcoming Klassiker clash between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will be broadcast on ABC for the first time in US television history.

On Saturday, the latest edition of Germany's famed Klassiker will get underway as familiar foes Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund prepare to do battle. This will be the third meeting between die Roten and die Schwarzgelben, and although the two sides aren't duking it out for the title, it will still be a game that fans worldwide will be looking forward to watching.

For Bundesliga supporters in the US, there's going to be an additional way to watch Der Klassiker this Saturday. ABC will be providing coverage for the first time in its history, with a kick-off time of 12:00 EST (09:00 PST) on March 6th. In addition, fans who prefer mobile access can still watch stars like Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland, Gio Reyna, and Alphonso Davies via ESPN+, while Spanish-speaking viewers can tune in to ESPN Deportes for live coverage.

Davies and Reyna, who play for Canada and the USA respectively, will also be tracked by the innovative Star Cam Feed throughout the match. This will be live-streaming as the players as each battles to help his respective side pick up all three points, and coverage will be provided by Sebastian Salazar and Herculez Gomez.

USA fans will get to see Dortmund youngster Reyna in action this Saturday, and with the Star Cam Feed can track all his movements all over the pitch

Vievers will hear the familiar voices of Derek Rae and Taylor Twellman providing play-by-play coverage as well as analysis, both on ABC and ESPN+, and Spanish-speaking fans will rely on the duo of Fernando Palomo and Mario Kempe on ESPN Deportes.

If football history is your thing, feel free to check out a fascinating work on ESPN+. Narrated by Rae, Der Klassiker: A Rivalry like no Other will provide a comprehensive overview of the history behind this famous match - dating all the way back to the Bundesliga's inception in the early 1960's. This program is currently being streamed on ESPN+ and will continue to do so until Saturday.

Because of COVID-19, fans can't gather together at pubs and other places to cheer on their favorite teams. However, there's set to be a virtual watch party once again this year, with ESPN+ and the Bundesliga collaborating to keep people entertained throughout the game. The party, which is free to register for USA-based viewers, will start promptly at 12:00 EST (09:00 PST) on Saturday, March 6th.
