Preview: Parma vs Inter
With just two points from their last five games, and two wins overall, Parma are looking likely to be playing in Serie B at this time next year. The Crociati haven't won a match since November 30, when they defeated Genoa 2-1. Since then, it's been nothing but misery for Roberto D'Aversa, and despite veteran attacker Gervinho trying to lead the way, everything has seemingly gone wrong for Parma.
Since drawing Inter 2-2 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on October 31, the strugglers predictably lost to sides like Roma (3-0), Juventus (4-0), and Lazio (2-0) although they did also get a point from Inter's cross-town rivals Milan. What will certainly frustrate their fans is the team's inability to win against teams like Benevento, Crotone, Spezia, and Cagliari as that theoretically represented 12 points that were within Parma's grasp.
However, the floundering side earned a measly three points against the aforementioned quartet, and two of them - Cagliari and Crotone - are in the relegation spots as well. That doesn't bode well for them ahead of the arrival of Inter on Thursday evening. Since being dumped out of the Champions League and the Coppa Italia, Antonio Conte's men have benefited from playing just once a week and now have established a four point lead at the table's summit. The Nerazzurri have won six of their last seven games and impressively, have conceded just one goal during this strong run, and along the way have scored a whopping 17 goals.
That includes putting three past cross-town rivals Milan without reply in the Derby della Madonnina, as well as defeating a Lazio side who'd surged up the table thanks to a seven-game winning streak. So, not surprisingly, Conte's side are the heavy favorites to make it a sixth win on the spin and potentially widen their lead on top of the table - if Milan fail to beat Udinese on Wednesday.
Parma may have been able to hold Inter to a two-all stalemate in the reverse fixture, but it's hard to imagine the Crociati managing that same result this time around. They've picked up a measly eight points from their 12 home games, which is their worst tally since 2014 - when they were relegated. And their injury crisis - which could see D'Aversa without four options up front - couldn't come at a worse possible time. For Inter, however, this will present a golden opportunity for them to take one step closer towards winning their first Scudetto since 2010.

Parma: Graziano Pelle and Roberto Inglese could potentially the arrival of Inter due to injuries. To complicate matters, they may be joined on the sidelines by Gervinho and Andreas Cornelius, meaning that D'Aversa could be without as many as four striking options as they prepare to try to battle the current league leaders.
Inter: Only Stefano Sensi remains out, which gives Conte plenty of options to select from when forming his starting XI.
