Pep makes EPL history in 2-1 win vs West Ham

Guardiola makes Premier League history with Man City's 2-1 win over West Ham

Goals from Dias and Stones handed the Citizens the win and helped Pep write his name in the record books

Man City took on West Ham in the early kick-off of Matchweek 26 in the English Premier. The Citizens, who boasted a 19-game winning streak heading into this tie, hosted David Moyes' high-flying London side, beating them 2-1 to make it 20 victories on the trot.

While it was a slim victory, it did not take long for the home side to go ahead. Ruben Dias broke the deadlock for Guardiola's side, slotting an excellent pass from Kevin de Bruyne past Randolph and into the back of the net. Unfortunately for the Premier League leaders, while they were quick to break the deadlock, the Hammers were even quicker to equalize, with Michail Antonio making it 1-1 after 13 minutes.

In the 68th minute, Man City reclaimed the lead via John Stones, with the Citizens needing another goal from a center-back to go ahead. Given how resilient they are defensively this season, Pep's men saw out the game and came away with all three points.

Not only did that win see Man City maintain their march to the title, it also saw Guardiola make history. That victory was his 200th in the Premier League, making him the quickest manager to reach this milestone in English top-flight history. The Spaniard needed only 273 matches to shatter the record which was previously held by Jose Mourinho (309).

This was the Etihad Stadium side's 19th victory of the Premier League season. The table-toppers have now temporarily gone 13 points ahead of closest rivals Man United, with the Red Devils set to be in action on Sunday in a tricky weekend trip to Chelsea.
