Cerro Porteño, Peñarol, Velez Sarsfield and Santos look forward to confirm their superiority in the second-leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals.
Velez Sarsfield and Peñarol are one step away from reaching the semi-finals. Santos, the only Brazilian survivor, rescued an important victory in Colombia and now hosts Once Caldas at the Urbano Caldeira.

Argentineans and Uruguayans must now visit Paraguay and Chile respectively with a comfortable advantage. Maxi Moralez and Juan Manuel Olivera led Velez and Peñarol towards victory with an early goal last week.

Cerro Porteño hosts Jaguares on Wednesday's night. Jonathan Fabbro found the opener on the 27th minute of the second half, but the Aztecs levelled the game with Pedroza's last-minute goal.

Once Caldas eliminated Cruzeiro from the Libertadores on its last visit to Brazil. The Colombians were defeated at home, but they managed to secure their place in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory in Belo Horizonte. Can they stop Santos from reaching Libertadores' semi-finals?

Libertad needs another miracle to advance to the Libertadores semi-finals. Fluminense defeated the Paraguayan squad 3-1 in the first-leg game away, but Libertad was unstoppable at home and secured its qualification.

Velez Sarsfield demonstrated their superiority last week in Liniers, by soundly defeating Libertad 3-0. Maxi Moralez opened the score in the first half, and Juan Manuel Martinez sealed the victory with a double in the last fifteen minutes of the game.

Moralez could not train normally last Monday due to a muscular fatigue, but it's expected he'll be fully fit to perform in Asuncion. Velez's coach Ricardo Gareca recovers Santiago Silva, Fortin's top scorer.

"It's not easy to control this level of anxiety" said Libertad's coach Gregorio Perez. "Velez is a dangerous rival, they're not going to speculate with the three-goal advantage. We're confident on what we do, our balance is our strength" he added.

Can the Paraguayans stop the favorite from reaching the semi-finals?

Santos rescued a major victory last week in Manizales, thanks to Alan Patrick's goal in the end of the first half. Santos' coach Muricy Ramalho misses playmaker Paulo Henrique as well as Jonathan and Leo, both wingers.

An exciting clash between two former American champions. Once Caldas celebrated their first American title back in 2004. It's been over 45 years since Santos lifted the Libertadores for the last time, when the Brazilian squad claimed two consecutive titles in 1962-1963.

Once Caldas' coach Juan Carlos Osorio recovers Carlos Carbonero, who received a red card in its last visit to Brazil. Elkin Calle, on the other hand, was sent off in Manizales last week and won't be able to perform, making way for Yédinson Palacios.

"I want to claim four titles in two years to make history with Santos" said Santos' striker Ze Eduardo, Neymar's partner on the attack. Can Once Caldas deliver another fatal blow on Carioca ground this Wednesday?

Universidad Catolica needs three goals to eliminate Peñarol from the quarter-finals and claim their place among America's fittest four. Cruzados' coach Juan Antonio Pizzi will have to do without midfielder Fernando Meneses, Adan Vergara and David Henríquez, all of them struggling with injuries.

Universidad Catolica's goalkeeper Paulo Garces played a huge role in their defeat last week in Uruguay. "I've been working mentally since the last week, to overcome all that I've been through. I'm ready for everything now".

Young Argentinean promise Marcelo Cañete is likely to lead the attack of the Chilean squad towards the victory at the San Carlos de Apoquindo. Peñarol will be a tough nut to crack, having already eliminated Godoy Cruz and reigning Libertadores champion Internacional playing away.

Peñarol's coach Diego Aguirre confirmed Alejandro González, Carlos Valdez, Guillermo, Darío Rodríguez; Matías Corujo, Nicolás Freitas, Luís Aguiar; Matías Mier; Alejandro Martinuccio and Juan Manuel Olivera with a classic 4-3-1-2 formation.

Carlos Valdez could nevertheless make it into the starting eleven, unlike Luís Aguiar, who struggles with a leg injury.

A victory is mandatory for Jaguares this Thursday in Asuncion to secure their ticket to the semi-finals. Jose Guadalupe Cruz's Felinos managed to rescue a vital point in the last minute of the last game.

Leonardo Astrada's Azulgranas could repeat the same formation that visited Chiapas seven days ago. "This will be like a final. We hope we can lift the Libertadores title, the dream could be for real" said Cerro's Jorge Villarreal.

The Mexican squad could recover Colombian international Jackson Martinez, Jaguares' top striker.

"We believe the Libertadores title could be ours" said Cerro's winger Ivan Piris. "This game will be complicated. The Mexican squad plays very fast in the last meters of the field, they know how to dribble" he added.

Jaguares' coach chances his arm as coach in Asuncion. Can the Mexicans return home victorious from Paraguay?
