These matches could be key to determine who ends the weekend as the top team in the Bundesliga. Follow them with our detailed guide.

For the first time in the past seven years, Bayern München's dominance in the Bundesliga could be in jeopardy, as Die Roten will face a crucial clash this weekend that could end with them surrendering the first place of the German top-flight.

Hansi Flick's men have dropped points in their last two Bundesliga games, and one more match without winning all the points could see them drop in the ranks for the first time this season. The team that could topple them off the first place is none other than RB Leipzig, who will enter the weekend while on a four-game winning streak.

Let's have a look at the games that could force a leader change in the German league.

Bayern vs Köln

Die Roten have not been the same since they returned from the FIFA Club World Cup. Since their performance in that competition, Bayern have failed to keep a clean sheet and even lost a game against Eintracht Frankfurt. Their win over Lazio in the UEFA Champions League showed glimpses of their dominance, and maybe Thomas Müller's return after recovering from a COVID-19 diagnosis is just what Flick's squad needs to go back to winning ways in the domestic tournament.

As for Köln, the team coached by Markus Gisdol is very much involved in the fight to avoid relegation, and a loss here combined with wins by Arminia and Hertha could see them drop to 16th place and into the danger zone. The "Billy Goats" will make it to this game on a two-match losing streak, which will make Bayern even more eager to end their winless run and keep the top spot in the Bundesliga.

Did you know? Bayern have won their last six games against Köln in all comps, scoring 17 games and conceding only three times.

RB Leipzig vs Borussia Mönchengladbach

Die Roten Bullen are two points behind Bayern in the title race, and a win here combined with a loss by Flick's men could see them reach the top spot for the first time in quite a while. In fact, Leipzig's loss against Mainz has proven to be quite costly, especially because they would be No.1 in the Bundesliga if they had not dropped points against one of the worst teams in the competition.

The team coached by Julian Nagelsmann will enter the pitch on a four-game winning streak, which was capped last weekend with their three-nil win over Hertha. On the other side of the pitch, Borussia Mönchengladbach make the trip to Leipzig on a four-game run without a win (two draws, two losses). Marco Rose's men have not won a Bundesliga game since January 22, and beating the Red Bulls would do wonders for their options of making it to European competitions.

Did you know? Three of the last four games between these teams held at Red Bull Arena have ended in a draw.
