The first clash between two of the 'Big Four' in Mexico will be the highlight of a weekend that will also feature interesting games for Toluca and América.

The Guard1anes 2021 tournament reaches Matchday 8, which is eagerly anticipated by fans after last week's incidents. This time, the football family in Mexico will hope for all controversy to be sparked by matter that take place on the pitch, because last week there were quite a few comments caused by América's loss of points, racism claims, and the words of a football "expert" who did not live up to his word when the league stripped América from their win against Atlas.

Cruz Azul are now leading the charts in Mexico after América's defeat. Both of these teams, along with the clash between Chivas and Pumas, will surely steal all the headlines in what could be quite an entertaining weekend of football.

Let's have a look at what Matchday 8 in the Liga MX has to offer (Image provided by Liga MX).

Matchday 8 will kick off on Thursday with the game between San Luis and Tigres, who will try to keep up the good form shown in their wins against Santos and Tijuana. Friday will bring two intriguing games, starting with Necaxa's visit to Puebla and Querétaro's trip to Mazatlán in the late night game.

Saturday will keep fans glued to their seats, as Toluca will host Atlas with the hope of not losing any points on the table. Los Diablos will need to be wary of Atlas' ways, since los Rojinegros have proved they are not willing to drop any points, even if they are pictured as crybabies by the entire league. América and Pachuca will follow up on that game, and defending champions León will put an end to the evening when they host the current leaders, Cruz Azul.

Sunday will also bring quite a few thrills for fans with the stellar clash between Guadalajara and Pumas, who will try to improve their previous performances when they lock horns on Sunday evening. Prior to that, Monterrey will host Tijuana and Santos will try to go back to winning ways when they face the up and coming Juárez. Since there will be a midweek matchday next week, there will be no Monday night game as usual.
