Los Blancos are gearing up for a crucial UCL showdown with Gian Piero Gasperini's side but will be without several first-team players.

Real Madrid are gearing up for the first leg of their crucial round of 16 clash with Atalanta, which is scheduled to take place this Wednesday. With that game being only two days away, Los Blancos have revealed the extent of their injury crisis, and it's not good news.

The Spanish giants announced their squad for the upcoming trip to the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia, with only 19 players set to board the flight to Italy. What is more alarming is that the 13-time Champions League winners will be without nine first-team players for this crucial test.

The latest player to join Los Merengues growing injury list is Karim Benzema. The Frenchman, who has scored an impressive 17 goals for his club this season, missed the recent win over Real Valladolid and will play no part in the midweek European clash. The Frenchman joins the likes of Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Valverde, and Rodrygo on the sidelines.

The biggest issue for Zidane is the lack of goalscorers in his 19-man squad. Five attackers make the trip to Atalanta and they are Asensio, Lucas, Vinicius, Mariano, and Hugo Duro. Of the five, Vinicius has scored the most times, netting three. In fact, Casemiro is the top scorer of that squad, scoring six goals.

Real Madrid have turned around their form, winning four in a row since their surprise Santiago Bernabeu defeat against Levante. Zizou will not want to go down in the first leg of this tie but they are undoubtedly in for a tough time given their injury crisis.
