A number of top clubs were dealt upsets in the last round of matches in the Bundesliga with the title charge and race for top four still there for the taking.

Round 21 of this Bundesliga campaign concluded on Monday night with a number of interesting results tweaking the general outlook of the league table. Reigning champions Bayern Munich had to dig deep to draw with relegation-battling Arminia Bielefeld at home, ending a seven-game winning run while title rivals RB Leipzig picked up a fourth consecutive win by beating Augsburg 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena. The struggles of Borussia Dortmund continued over the weekend although they were spared another defeat as Erling Haaland's late strike stole a point for them against Hoffenheim.

The Bavarians confirmed the signing of the defender for a reported fee of €42.5 million ($52m/£37m). The player, who was reported to be on the radar of the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, will complete the season at Leipzig before he joins the reigning European champions this summer.

  • David Alaba to leave Bayern Munich after 13 years: Bayern Munich center-back David Alaba is set to leave the club after 13 years of service for the Bundesliga outfit. The 28-year-old Austrian defender's contract ends at the end of the season and is reportedly on the verge of signing for La Liga giants Real Madrid.
