Neymar wants to reunite with the Argentine icon and is ready to lure him to Paris.

Lionel Messi is gearing up to face PSG, a team the Argentine could end up joining next summer, if Neymar has his way. This is according to L'Equipe, claiming that the Brazilian sensation has made a personal plea to the six-time Ballon d'Or winner to team up with him in Paris.

The French publication write (as per AS) that the world's most expensive player, who enjoyed a lovely partnership with Leo during his Camp Nou days, called the 33-year-old to convince him to join Les Parisiens. La Pulga has stated that he won't make a decision regarding his future until the season ends but the plea from Neymar is undeniably a tantalizing one.

The pair enjoyed excellent chemistry both on and off the pitch, with the Brazilian and Argentine winning almost every trophy while striking up a great friendship. Should the Blaugrana icon pack up his bags for the Parc des Princes, not only would he reunite with Neymar, but he would also join forces with Kylian Mbappe, one of the hottest strikers in world football.

Leo's current contract ends this summer, meaning he could leave the Camp Nou for free. Man City were said to be the favorites to sign him last summer when he handed in a transfer request and are thus likely to be PSG's biggest competition.

Remaining in Catalonia is still an option, albeit an outside one. Many believe the upcoming Barcelona presidential elections could be the key factor, with the club captain holding out on a decision until the next board is appointed. In fact, some reports suggest that the South American icon would only stay if Joan Laporta wins and returns to the helm of the club.

As for now, the main focus is on Tuesday's first-leg clash with PSG. After suffering embarrassing exits in each of the last three UEFA Champions League seasons, Barcelona will be keen on making amends this time around. Furthermore, with the Spanish Primera Division title being firmly in Atletico's hands, the UCL might be their only shot at silverware. Whether they will beat Pochettino's side or crumble in the face of tough opposition once again, time will reveal.
