The Reds' shotstopper produced two howlers to cost his side a favorable result against Man City on Sunday.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker had a night to forget in Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City as he produced two goalkeeping howlers to gift the Citizens their first-ever win at the Anfield since 2004.

The 28-year-old Brazilian was culpable for the second and third goals scored by Pep Guardiola's men in their 4-1 win, with the Reds picking up a third successive home defeat to set an unwanted record. A first half penalty miss by Ilkay Gundogan did not stop Man City from hitting their stride as the German international will subsequently make amends by scoring the game's opener inside the first four minutes of the second half.

Less than 14 minutes later, Mohamed Salah restored parity from the penalty spot after Ruben Dias fouled the Egyptian in his side's penalty area. Not long after came the first part of Alisson Becker's horror show. The Brazilian shot stopper misdirected a pass into the path of Phil Foden. The English starlet then dazzled his way into Liverpool's penalty box and served the ball to Ilkay Gundogan to score his second goal of the night.

Four minutes later, a visibly distraught Alisson added his to his side's misery by committing another error. This time, his misjudged pass landed at the feet of Bernardo Silva, and the Portuguese ended up assisting Raheem Sterling for his 100th career goal with a brilliant chip.

With the night's result, Liverpool became the first side to lose three straight home league matches in the following campaign after winning the English top-flight since Chelsea did so in 1956. The Reds now sit 10 points behind Manchester City on the league table and could see the deficit increase to 13 should the Citizens win their outstanding game with Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Sunday's win took the run of Pep Guardiola's men 14 in all competitions. The Citizens, as a result, equalled the all-time winning run by an English top-flight side across all competitions. Only Preston and Arsenal have ever managed the feat.
