The Old Lady head into the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on the back of two successive victories, winning 2-0 against Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana and Bologna in the league. Will they add SPAL to their list of victims? Here’s our preview of Tuesday’s clash.

Juventus vs SPAL – preview

After impressive back-to-back victories in the Supercoppa Italiana and the Serie A, Italian champions Juventus shift focus to the Coppa Italia for their midweek fixture. Here, the Old Lady will lock horns with SPAL, the only lower-league club left in the tournament, in the quarter-final stage of this competition.

The Bianconeri head into this fixture on the back of a confidence-boasting 2-0 victory over Bologna. Given that league leaders AC Milan lost 3-0 to Atalanta, Juventus' weekend triumph means that they are now seven points adrift of the table-toppers.

Things have not been going well in Pirlo's debut season – the fact that they Scudetto holders sit in fourth is a testament to that. However, things have been picking up for the Old Lady. Their impressive 2-0 win over Napoli in the Italian Super Cup has not been forgotten, helping their novice manager get his hands on his first piece of silverware.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal in that victory, and with that 64th-minute effort, he became the all-time leading scorer in football history with 760 goals. Having finally surpassed Josef Bican, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will be looking to add to his tally.

Last time out, Juventus needed extra-time to beat Genoa and reach the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. Will they face similar struggles against SPAL? Tune in to find out.
