Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has come clean on his future at Liverpool amid rumors that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in his signing. The 28-year-old Egyptian has ruled out the possibility of exiting the Merseyside club by stating that he wants to stay at Anfield for as long as possible.
Salah's current contract with the Reds will end in the summer of 2023 and with the player yet to extend his stay, his future has come under scrutiny. Back in December 2020, the former Chelsea and AS Roma forward fueled rumors about his future by flirting with the idea of playing for either Barcelona or Real Madrid in a revealing interview with Spanish publication AS.
An impressive start to the season has seen the Egyptian ranking as the top-goalscorer in the Premier League with 13 goals. His Liverpool side currently sit in fourth position with three points separating them and leader Manchester United.
In an interview with Norwegian channel TV2 on Monday, Salah revealed that he is open to staying at the Anfield club for as long as possible. Asked whether or not he will consider a future outside of the club, he said: "I do not know. If you ask, I say I want to stay here as long as I can, but, as I have said before, it is in the hands of the club.
"I will always give 100 per cent to the last minute I am in this club and I want to win as many trophies as I can."
"And I want to give 100 per cent to the people, who show me love all the time."
